Share The Dream
LVM Dreams Big is working to bring the FIRST Boundless Playground to the state of Wisconsin by 8/8/08!

Join our effort to kick down physical barriers and raise a play structure that opens a world of play to all children.

Meet One of Our Young Supporters:

Audrey Burke, a first grader at Elvehjem Elementary School, recognized early how important it is to include all children.  While shopping with her mother she asked, “Why does that boy with possibilities need a wheelchair?”

We celebrate Audrey’s vision and know that this playground will provide the opportunity for all children realize their fullest “possibilities” while feeding their spirit for fun.  Thank you to our supporters who continue to share the dream.

$55,000 Madison Community Foundation Grant Brings Boundless Play to Madison:

Children, parents and community supporters cheered the announcement of a $55,000 Madison Community Foundation Grant to build and maintain the first Boundless Playground in Wisconsin.

“This project creates access to childhood through play,” stated Kathleen Woit, President of the Madison Community Foundation. “The creativity and energy behind this project have been extraordinary – it has been a grassroots campaign from the beginning, providing another gem for Madison families and showing us all what perseverance and vision can accomplish.  The Madison Community Foundation is proud to support such a wonderful community asset.”

“We’re thrilled with the overwhelming community support for this project.  In December 2007 LVM Dreams Big officially kicked-off fundraising with only $6,000 dedicated to the project.  Today, thanks to the Madison Community Foundation, Sara Lee Foundation, Supreme Structures, Great Dane and many, many families that have attended our monthly family-friendly events, we are within reach of the $200,000 goal,” stated Betsinger.  “It is truly amazing and humbling to live in a community that cares so deeply about all children and families.”

$10,000 Christopher & Dana Reeves Foundation Grant

Good news travels fast.  On Monday, June 23rd, attendees of LVM Dreams Big Golf Spectacular cheered the announcement of a $10,000 Christopher & Dana Reeves Foundation Grant.

Never, never, never give up!  When the LVM Dreams Big grant writing committee found out last January that their grant request to the Christopher & Dana Reeves Foundation was not selected, they worked double-time on another submission.

“While we were disappointed, the Foundation encouraged us to resubmit for this new grant cycle so we went right to work,” stated Kelli Betsinger.  “This project serves as a lesson to our children that things don’t always come easy, but with determination and a belief in your work, anything is possible.”
